Соціальна мережа Twitter заблокувала облікові записи, що належать британській ультраправій групі Britain First, відео якої поширював президент США Дональд Трамп.

Головний обліковий запис групи, а також акаунти лідера групи Пола Голдінга та його заступниці Джейди Франсен Twitter заблокував у понеділок. Голдінг і Франсен підтвердили блокування на власних сторінках Facebook, але детальніше не коментували.

Twitter також оголосив у понеділок, що почне впроваджувати зміни до своїх правил про "образливу поведінку та поведінку ненависті".

Британський державний міністр з цифрових питань заявив, що призупинення дії акаунтів стало "хорошим кроком вперед" для Twitter.

Щодо Голдінга і Франсен у Британії ведеться розслідування через їхні промови, проголошені на мітингу в Белфасті у серпні. Франсен звинувачують у погрозливій та образливій поведінці.

Франсен також розміщувала у Twitter відеоролики з кадрами нападів, нібито виконаних мусульманами. В одному з них розбивають статую Святої Діви Марії
