Данко виступив у Держдумі Росії 15 листопада і, зокрема, заявив, що "Росія є складовою частиною світової безпеки, подобається це комусь чи ні". Минув місяць й у словацькому парламенті від політика зажадали пояснень.

На зустрічі з парламентським комітетом Данко назвав свій виступ в Держдумі "історичною подією."

"Я був здивований можливістю виступити. Я хотів донести основне повідомлення про те, що ЄС може стати мостом в питаннях, які розділяють Європу. Це також була можливість публічно подякувати за звільнення під час Другої світової війни", - сказав Данко.

Він також заявив, що як спікер парламенту намагається налагодити діалог і зустрітися з усіма представниками інших держав.

"Я відмовляюся звинувачувати народи на основі ідеології. Я відмовляюся звинувачувати Німеччину в нацизмі і Росію в комунізмі", - додав він.
