В Мінську під будівлею адміністрації президента Білорусі відбувся пікет на підтримку телеканалу «Белсат» та свободи слова.
 

П'ятеро пікетувальників протягом години стояли біля президентської адміністрації з плакатами на підтримку телеканалу і скандували гасла. Як вони пояснили, серед їх вимог - припинення ретрансляції в Білорусі російських телеканалів, які, на їхню думку, дурять білоруське населення при потуранні місцевої влади. Правоохоронні органи стежили за пікетом, але не перешкоджали його проведенню, передає Media Sapiens

Один з учасників акції, співголова оргкомітету зі створення партії «Білоруська християнська демократія» Павло Северинець прокоментував DW, що саме Олександр Лукашенко винен в тому, що в Білорусі немає свободи слова і єдиний білоруськомовний телеканал «Белсат» змушений перебувати в Польщі.

Телеканал здійснює мовлення з 2007 року в рамках договору МЗС Польщі та TVP (Telewizja Polska). Нещодавно керівниця телеканалу «Белсат» Агнешка Ромашевська-Гужі повідомила про суттєве скорочення фінансування каналу. За її словами фактично це означає ліквідацію «Белсату».

Як повідомляє Білоруська служба Польського радіо депутати Комісії з міжнародних справ польського Сейму хочуть обговорити ситуацію з телеканалом «Белсат»  на парламентських дебатах. За словами депутата Сейму від партії «Громадянська платформа» Роберта Тишкевича, закриття каналу буде «трагічною помилкою».
