Еврокомиссия намерена увеличить объем средств, выделяемых на оборону, а также создать специальный оборонный фонд. Об этом в среду, 30 ноября, пишет газета Süddeutsche Zeitung, отмечая, что к этому шагу исполнительный орган ЕС подтолкнуло избрание президентом США Дональда Трампа и обострившаяся ситуация с безопасностью в Европе, передает DW.ua

По данным Еврокомиссии, отсутствие кооперации по вопросам обороны между странами-членами ежегодно обходится ЕС от 25 млн до 100 млн евро. Для улучшения ситуации и предполагается создать фонд, за счет которого должны финансироваться совместные проекты, такие как, в частности, разработка технологий беспилотников.

Данных об объеме фонда пока нет. Он станет частью плана действий, касающегося европейской оборонной стратегии, который Еврокомиссия намерена представить 30 ноября, указывает Süddeutsche Zeitung. В документе, предусматривающем, в частности, усиление сотрудничества Евросоюза и НАТО, подчеркивается, что расходы ЕС на оборону в течение последних десяти лет оставались на уровне 200 миллиардов евро, в то время как Китай за тот же период увеличил свой оборонный бюджет на 150 процентов. А США только в 2015 году инвестировали в оборону вдвое больше, чем ЕС.

В ходе предвыборной кампании избранный американский президент Дональд Трамп заявлял, что европейские страны должны увеличить расходы на оборону.
