Президент України Володимир Зеленський призначив журналістку Юлію Мендель своєю прес-секретаркою.

Указ про це з'явився на сайті президента в понеділок.

Призначенню передував публічний конкурс, на який подалися тисячі претендентів. Він тривав близько місяця.

Пані Мендель вже сама прокоментувала новину. "Якщо хочеш змін - бери й роби. Рада долучитися до команди Володимира Зеленського. Зробимо все можливе, щоб бути якомога відкритішими для людей і для медіа", - цитує її сайт президента.

Хто така Юлія Мендель

32-річна Юлія Мендель народилася на Херсонщині. Вчилася у Київському національному університеті імені Тараса Шевченка.

Має науковий ступінь кандидата філологічних наук.

Працювала на українських телеканалах, зокрема ICTV, "Інтері" та "Еспресо".

Вона також співпрацювала як журналіст з The New York Times. Писала для українського Forbes і американського Politico.

Останнім часом працювала консультантом з комунікацій у Світовому банку.

Конкурс на посаду речника Зеленського оголосили 30 квітня. На нього подалися майже чотири тисячі претендентів.

Кандидати мали знати щонайменше три мови, мати досвід в журналістиці або публічній сфері та, в разі потреби, "працювати 24/7".
