Активісти природоохоронної організації "Грінпіс" піднялися на посольство Німеччини в Лондоні, розгорнувши гігантський зелений прапор, який закликав до припинення використання вугілля.

Greenpeace закликає повністю відмовитися від використання кам'яного вугілля і замінити його поновлюваними джерелами енергії.

Принаймні п'ятеро активістів взяли участь в акції. На банері було написано: "Досить вугілля - захищайте ліс Хамбах".

 
 
 
 

Напередодні тисячі німців взяли участь в акції протесту проти вирубки Гамбахського лісу, що на заході Німеччини, а також видобутку бурого вугілля.

Раніше екоактивісти у відповідь на плани енергетичного концерну почати вирубку частини дерев Гамбахського лісу закликали до масштабної акції непокори і побудували імпровізований табір прямо на деревах. Адміністративний суд Кельна, пославшись на вимоги протипожежної безпеки, ухвалив рішення про його знесення. Відповідна поліцейська операція була припинена через трагічну загибель журналіста, який упав з висячого містка. Через деякий час знесення продовжили. Станом на вівторок, 2 жовтня, поліція демонтувала 86 будиночків.
