Президентские выборы в Бурунди отложены до 21 июля, пресс-секретарь президента заявил в субботу. Заявление появилось после того, как лидеры соседних африканских стран призвали перенести выборы, чтобы остановить непрекращающуюся эскалацию насилия в стране, пишет Интерфакс

Накануне бурундийская армия вступила в перестрелку с неизвестными вооруженными людьми в провинции Каянза, недалеко от границы с Руандой.

Власти и армия Бурунди Бурунди никаких комментариев не дали. Известно, что в результате последних стычек пострадали двое солдат и двое боевиков.
