Американець Стів К’юні із міста Лебанон, штат Міссурі, проплив 62 км у величезному гарбузі, який виростив і вичистив сам. Таким чином чоловік встановив світовий рекорд.  Про це повідомляє UPI.

Гарбуз, у якому веслував К’юні, важить 548 кг. 

Чоловік назвав своє судно символічно – на честь персонажа Марка Твена – “Гекль Беррі” (саме слово “гекльберрі”, до речі, може означати різні види лохини). 

Чоловік проплив річкою Міссурі від міста Канзас та міста Наполеон, штат Міссурі. Його супроводжував десяток місцевих човнярів. Стів вирушив у дорогу о 7:30 ранку, а прибув о 18:18.

“Ми робимо щось дуже дуркувате дуже безпечно”, – прокоментував він. 

Свій стан він описав, як “змерзлий, втомлений, але задоволений”.

У 2022 році житель Небраски Дуейн Хансен встановив рекорд із веслування в гарбузі на 60,3 км.
