Руководитель Facebook Messenger Дэвид Маркус (David Marcus) сообщил о начале тестирования персонального ассистента под названием «М».

Функционал, построенный с использованием технологий искусственного интеллекта, выполняет задания и находит информацию от имени пользователя. Это позволит пользователям освободить время для более важных дел, пишет searchengines.ru

Помощник М может осуществлять приобретения, выбирать подарки, бронировать столики в ресторанах, организовывать поездки, встречи и многое другое.

Новый продукт социальной сети становится конкурентом Siri от Apple, Google Now и Cortana от Microsoft. Преимуществом помощника Facebook может стать набор запросов с клавиатуры, так как пользователи мессенджера привыкли именно к такому способу обмена информацией. Кроме того, не все пользователи хотят произносить вслух команды, как этого требуют сервисы конкурентов.

По состоянию на июнь текущего года ежемесячное количество активных пользователей приложения Messenger достигло 700 миллионов.

Рост аудитории сервиса довольно важен для реализации планов Facebook. В Messenger уже добавлены коммерческие функции, а также возможность делиться местоположением. Кроме того, для регистрации в сервисе уже не будет нужен аккаунт в Facebook.
