Парламент Азербайджану 2 грудня ухвалив рішення про розпуск і звернення до президента Ільгама Алієва щодо проведення в країні позачергових парламентських виборів.

Повідомляє "Радіо Свобода"

За таке рішення проголосували 99 депутатів, 1 депутат голосував проти, ще 1 – утримався.

Перед голосуванням віцеспікер парламенту Бахар Мурадова і спікер Октай Асадов зачитали депутатам звернення владної партії "Новий Азербайджан", де було сказано про необхідність "оновлення" парламенту і про те, що кадрові зміни в органах влади "позитивно оцінюються народом".

Чергові вибори до парламенту мали відбутися в листопаді 2020 року, але тепер рішення про голосування має ухвалити президент Азербайджану.

Вибори мають відбутися протягом трьох місяців від дати розпуску.

Партія "Новий Азербайджан" здобула перемогу на виборах 2015 року, які бойкотувала опозиція.

Президент Ільгам Алієв прийшов до влади в 2003 році незадовго до смерті його батька Гейдара Алієва, який правив країною від 1993 року.
