Американський сенатор Джефф Флек заявив, що має намір звернутися до Сенату з промовою, в якій піддасть критиці використання президентом Дональдом Трампом терміна "ворог народу".

Флек нагадав, що цю фразу використовував Йосип Сталін.

"Коли політик називає будь-яку пресу, яка його не влаштовує, "фейковими ЗМІ", то як раз ця людина повинна викликати підозри, а не преса", - заявив сенатор.

Він додав, що подібне явище говорить про стан американської демократії, в якій президент використовує слова, які використовував Сталін для позначення своїх ворогів.

Раніше Дональд Трамп в одному зі своїх твітів назвав низку медіа ворогами американського народу.
