Представництво ОБСЄ заявило, що турецький референдум щодо конституційної реформи було проведено в нерівних умовах і можливостях для прихильників та противників внесення змін до конституції Туреччини, інформує  ВВС.

Експерти організації вважають, що виборцям не було надано можливість отримати неупереджену інформацію щодо основних аспектів запропонованої представниками влади реформи. Також у ОБСЄ вважають, що голосування було проведено в умовах утисків фундаментальних свобод політичного середовища, які потрібні для демократичного процесу. Зокрема мова йде про перешкоджання роботі журналістів, які репрезентували кампанії, що не підтримували ідею розширення президентських повноважень. 

Як повідомляв PRпортал, про свою незгоду з результатами референдуму заявили днем раніше представники опозиційних сил Туреччини, повідомляючи, що вони володіють доказами маніпуляцій, які могли вплинути на відсоткове співвідношення результатів голосування. Вони наголосили, що вони не визнають результати референдуму до тих пір, поки їх не буде перераховано.
