У Латвії найближчим часом планують створити інтернет-портал, на якому будь-який житель країни зможе перевірити достовірність новин.

Про це заявив глава МВС Латвії Ріхард Козловскіс, повідомляє Європейська правда із посиланням на портал Delfi.

Жителям Латвії не варто сліпо вірити всьому, що вони читають в інтернеті, краще черпати інформацію в офіційно зареєстрованих ЗМІ або держструктурах, підкреслив міністр.

На питання, чи відстежується в передвиборний період у країні поширення всіх неправдивих новин, Козловскіс відповів: "Ми працюємо в цьому напрямку, створений координуючий механізм. Я дуже сподіваюся, що нам вдасться створити єдиний портал, де кожен житель Латвії зможе з'ясувати достовірність інформації".

Останнім часом в латвійському інтернеті поширюється велика кількість хибних новин. Так, минулого тижня на порталі "redzams.net" була опублікована фейкова новина про те, що 15 липня обвалився торговий парк "Alfa", в результаті чого сотні людей загинули. На цьому порталі публікуються і інші неправдиві новини, наприклад, про те, що з початком навчального року кожен школяр отримає по 300 євро.

Козловскіс від імені правоохоронних органів пообіцяв зробити все, щоб ідентифікувати і затримати розповсюджувачів цих фейкових новин.
