Спустя два месяца после убийства словацкого журналиста-расследователя Яна Куцияка тысячи людей вновь вышли вечером в пятницу, 27 апреля, в Братиславе на антиправительственную демонстрацию. По данным СМИ, в акции приняли участие около 5 тысяч человек, передает DW.com.

Главное требование манифестантов - проведение досрочных выборов. Уже произведенной замены нескольких членов правительства недостаточно, чтобы вернуть доверие населения к государственным институтам, заявили организаторы, которыми выступили ряд гражданских инициатив. По их информации, петицию о проведении досрочных выборов уже подписали 80 тысяч словаков, подписи собирали и на нынешней демонстрации. Очередные парламентские выборы должны пройти лишь через два года.

Волна протестов в Словакии поднялась после того, как 25 февраля были застрелены журналист-расследователь Ян Куцияк и его невеста. В одном из своих последних материалов, который был опубликован уже после убийства, Куцияк обвинил приближенных премьер-министра Роберта Фицо в тесных связях с итальянскими предпринимателями, которые, в свою очередь, были связаны с мафией. Фицо отверг эти обвинения.

После массовых протестов в стране в отставку ушли сам Фицо, два его помощника, глава МВД, шеф полиции, а также министр культуры, который формально курирует журналистов в стране.
