Экс-премьер Юлия Тимошенко признала, что президентские выборы были честными.

Об этом она сказала, отвечая на вопросы журналистов.

"Эти выборы были такими, которых возможно мы не видели за 23 года независимости", - сказала она.

"На выборах, которые прошли в условиях военной агрессии, голосовать было очень сложно, поэтому то, что эти выборы состоялись, это большая победа Украины и украинского народа", - отметила она.

Тимошенко поблагодарила всех граждан, которые приняли участие в голосовании и особенно жителей Востока Украины.

При этом Тимошенко подчеркнула, что президент, "которого украинцы изберут на этих выборах, имеет все возможности, все рычаги влияния, все инструменты власти, чтобы безотлагательно остановить войну, удовлетворить все ожидания украинцев".

Вместе с тем Тимошенко не ответила на вопрос, будет ли поздравлять с победой своего оппонента Петра Порошенко до официального объявления результатов выборов.
