В 2016 году NBC закрыла сайт и Twitter-аккаунт популярного издания Breaking News. Читатели тогда просили команду проекта перезапустить продукт. И в 2018 году он все-таки получил новую жизнь под новым названием Factal.

В блоге Factal Кори Бергман, один из основателей Breaking News, написал, что команда прошлого проекта получала много историй от пользователей, которые были свидетелями или участниками глобальных трагедий. И именно эти истории побудили авторов Breaking News создать новый стартап.

Пока у проекта Factal есть только так называемая лендинг пейдж (с возможностью подписки на специальную рассылку) и аккаунт в Twitter. Продукт будет специализироваться не на новостях, как это было раньше, а на предоставлении данных о катаклизмах, угрозах террористических атак и других опасностях крупным компаниям и организациям.

«Основанный в Сиэтле и Лондоне, Factal будет предоставлять компаниям факты, которые им необходимы в режиме реального времени для защиты людей и предотвращения сбоев при возникновении непредвиденных ситуаций. У нас есть финансирование, клиенты готовы к нам прийти, и мы нанимаем команду на сентябрьский запуск», – прокомментировал Кори Бергман.

Сам Factal эти данные будет получать из различных источников, в том числе от пользователей соцсетей. Эта информация, естественно, будет проверена и обработана перед продажей организациям и компаниям.
