Міністр закордонних справ Німеччини Франк-Вальтер Штайнмайєр пішов у відставку зі своєї посади.

Президент Німеччини Йоахім Гаук прийняв відставку Штайнмайєра і подякував йому за роботу, повідомляється на сайті глави німецької держави, передає Новое время

Повноваження глави МЗС Німеччини Гаук передав голові Соціал-демократичної партії Зігмару Габріелу.

Як повідомлялося, Штайнмайєр претендує на посаду президента Німеччини, вибори якого відбудуться 12 лютого 2017 року.

У свою чергу Зігмар Габріель відмовився балотуватися на посаду глави уряду ФРН.
