Американські спецслужби з'ясовують, чи мав бізнесмен Картер Пейдж, радник республіканського кандидата в президенти США Дональда Трампа, приватні контакти з російськими чиновниками на тему ймовірного зняття санкцій проти Росії.

Про це написав журналіст-розслідувач видання Yahoo News Майкл Ісікофф у п'ятницю, 23 вересня.

У своїй статті Ісікофф посилається на кілька поінформованих джерел, які поки не розголошуються.

За даними журналіста, американські чиновники отримали повідомлення розвідки, в яких говориться, що в липні в Москві Пейдж зустрівся з Ігорем Сечіним, головою державної компанії Роснефть" і одним із соратників президента Росії Володимира Путіна.

Також повідомляється, що за даними розвідки Пейдж зустрівся з Ігорем Дивейкиним, правою рукою В'ячеслава Володіна, який досі працював першим заступником глави адміністрації Путіна.

Старший співробітник правоохоронних органів США не оскаржував цю інформацію, коли Yahoo News попросили коментар з цього приводу.

"Це на екрані наших радарів, всьому свій час", - сказав чиновник про контакти Пейджа з російськими офіційними особами.

Нагадаємо, Трамп призначив Пейджа радником з питань зовнішньої політики в березні 2016 року. Пейдж, колишній інвестиційний банкір, який працює в Москві в американському інвестиційному банку Merryll Lynch, де консультував найбільші російські енергетичні компанії, які зараз знаходяться під американськими санкціями.
