Президент Венесуели Ніколас Мадуро використав у своїй політичній кампанії найпопулярнішу пісню у світі Despacito, де в переробленому вигляді лунають заклики проголосувати за нього.

На відео, прихильники президента кілька разів включали Despacito зі зміненим текстом на публічних заходах.

"Повільно, відкрий свої очі і поглянь на свій народ", - співається у венесуельському варіанті композиції. В оригіналі ці рядки звучать ось так: "Повільно, я хочу повільно вдихати аромат твоєї шиї".

Співаки Луїс Фонса та Дедді Янкі і автор тексту Ерік Ендер заявили, що не дозволяли змінювати слова пісні і використовувати її для політичної пропаганди.

"Чого ще можна чекати від людини, яка позбавила життя стількох молодих мрійників і цілий народ, який просто намагається створити краще майбутнє для своїх дітей", - написав Дедді Янкі.

В свою чергу, Мадуро назвав претензії музикантів "імперіалістичної диктатурою".

Вибори в Національні установчі збори заплановані на кінець липня. За допомогою зборів Мадуро планує провести реформу конституції. Опозиціонери протестують проти скликання зборів і вважають, що президент порушує конституцію.
