 Правляча партія Польщі PiS готує сценарій своєї поразки на виборах, збільшуючи повноваження президента — Polityka.

Парламентські вибори відбудуться 15 жовтня 2023 року, а Дуда обійматиме посаду президента до 2025 року.

Без згоди президента тепер неможливо звільнити національного прокурора, якому рішенням Сейму вже надано найважливіші повноваження генпрокурора. Так PiS захищається від кримінального переслідування свого уряду.

Крім того, рішенням Сейму президент отримав владу над відносинами уряду Польщі з ЄС:

• без його згоди неможливо буде призначити низки польських представників до Суду ЄС;

• уряд повинен буде спільно з президентлм визначати пріоритети під час майбутнього головування Польщі в Єврораді;

• президент матиме право брати участь у засіданнях Євроради та у засіданнях за участю ЄС і вимагати доступ до будь-яких документів, що стосуються цих зустрічей.

Повноваження щодо контролю польської політики у відносинах з ЄС – у разі поразки PiS на виборах – дадуть можливість її торпедувати.
