На питання про те, чи будуть повноваження президента й згодом парламенту автоматично подовжені  наступного року, заступник голови комісії Сергій Дубовик вказав на формулювання в Конституції: "Скільки б не було спекуляцій щодо цієї теми, в Конституції чітко записано, що президент України виконує свої повноваження до вступу на посаду новообраного президента України. 

Все решта – це політичні спекуляції, щодо закінчення повноважень, переходу якихось повноважень. Конституція чітко дає відповіді на ці запитання. Закон про воєнний стан чітко визначає, що під час воєнного стану вибори не проводяться. Іншого поки що немає, змін до законодавства немає. Тобто немає підстав, принаймні юридичних, говорити про щось на даний час".
