Державний секретар США Майк Помпео запропонував провести розслідування стосовно можливого втручання України в президентські вибори США 2016 року.

"Кожен раз, коли з’являється інформація, яка вказує на те, що в будь-який момент, будь-яка країна втручалась в американські вибори, ми не лише маємо право, ми зобов’язані виявити це."

Таку відповідь Помпео надав на запитання: "Чи варто Штатам розслідувати звинувачення України у втручанні у вибори?". Проте власне слова "Україна" він не вжив.

Він додав, що навіть пропозиція втрутитись має бути розслідувана. Агентство новин нагадує, що слова держсекретаря суперечили його ж оцінці розвідданих, які свідчили, що саме Росія втручалась у вибори 2016 року.
