Парламент Македонії сьогодні проведе голосування з питання про зміну назви країни Про це повідомляє AFP.

"Парламент Македонії проголосує в понеділок про те, чи ратифікувати угоду про зміну назви країни", - йдеться в повідомленні.

Як зазначає видання, прем'єр-міністру країни Зорану Заєву, який виступає за ініціативу, потрібні голоси двох третин депутатів парламенту, щоб внести поправки в Конституцію у рамках угоди з Грецією.

Зокрема, правки припускають зміну назви країни на «Північна Македонія» в усьому тексті документу, зміна преамбули Конституції, гарантії незмінності кордонів і суверенітету сусідніх країн, а також заходи для підтримки діаспори за кордоном.

 17 червня Греція і Республіка Македонія підписали угоду щодо зміни назви КЮРМ, що дозволило відкрити Скоп'є шлях в НАТО та ЄС. 30 вересня в Македонії пройшов референдум про зміну назви, проте явка населення була занадто низькою - менш як 50%.

9 жовтня уряд Македонії прийняв пропозицію про внесення конституційних змін, щоб змінити назву країни на Республіка Північна Македонія.
