Бывший комедийный актер Джимми Моралес объявил о своей победе на выборах Президента Гватемалы, которые состоялись 25 октября 2015 г. Об этом он заявил, как только были объявлены первые результаты голосования, сообщает РБК.

"Как Президент я получил мандат, мандат народа Гватемалы, чтобы бороться с коррупцией. Спасибо, и благослови вас бог", - заявил Моралес.

По предварительным данным Моралес набирает около 70% голосов избирателей, второе место занимает Сандра Торрес с 27,6%.

Отметим, что выборы в Гватемале прошли на фоне отставки и помещения под стражу бывшего Президента Отто Переса Молины из-за громкого коррупционного скандала. Его подозревают в причастности к созданию коррупционной схемы в таможенной службе Гватемалы, а также в мошенничестве и преступном сговоре.
