Водночас у відомстві поспішили запевнити громадян Британії, що утримання "нового співробітника" не коштуватиме ні пенса платникам податків.

"За утримання кота відповідатимуть співробітники міністерства", - йдеться в заяві МЗС.

У відомстві також підкреслили, що "прибуття Пальмерстона на дипломатичну службу в ролі Головного Мишолова допоможе знизити кількість шкідників у будівлі МЗС".
