Екс-прем'єр Грузії, мільярдер Бідзіна Іванішвілі на п'ятому з'їзді керівної партії 11 березня був одноголосно обраний головою "Грузинської мрії".

На посаді голови "Грузинської мрії" Іванішвілі змінив прем'єр-міністра Грузії Георгія Квірікашвілі.

Новий голова висловив надію на відновлення діалогу з Росією за допомогою міжнародних партнерів.

"Ми частково зуміли здійснити деескалацію відносин з Росією, і сподіваємося, що за допомогою міжнародних партнерів стане можливо перейти в режим діалогу і вислухати один одного. Що створить перспективи досягнення крок за кроком поставлених перед державою завдань", - цитує його РИА Новости. Як відомо, дипломатичні відносини між Грузією і Росією були перервані в 2008 році через військовий напад РФ.

Перша частина заходу була закритою і журналісти не могли бути присутніми на ній. ЗМІ зазначають, що це було безпрецедентним випадком в новітній історії Грузії.
