Мэр Нью-Йорка Билл де Блазио отказался от участия в президентских выборах.

Об этом он объявил в эфире программе Morning Joe на NBC.

Де Блазио хотел участвовать в выборах в качестве кандидата от Демократической партии, но его рейтинг оказался слишком низким, чтобы он всерьез мог претендовать на победу в праймериз.

"Я думаю, что вложил все, что мог, в эти праймериз. Очевидно, сейчас не мое время, поэтому я собираюсь закончить свою предвыборную кампанию", - заявил де Блазио.

За выдвижение от Демпартии в США соревнуются еще около двух десятков кандидатов, однако реально на победу в праймериз претендуют только двое - бывший вице-президент США Джо Байден и сенатор Элизабет Уоррен.
