Несподіваний візит на початку тижня сирійського президента Башара Асада до Москви був PR-акцією, спланованою у Кремлі.

Про це йдеться у статті, опублікованій у німецькій газеті Welt, пише Укрінформ

"Це була PR-акція, повністю за сценарієм Кремля. Сирійський правитель, очевидно, просив про секретність. Проте Кремль хоче показати усьому світу, де вирішується питання і влади у Сирії", - пише автор.

Путін у ході привітання, кадри якого оприлюднили, дав зрозуміти, що це він запросив сирійського президента до Москви. "Путін хоче показати Заходу, що є ключовою фігурою для майбутнього цього конфлікту. Той, хто хоче говорити з Асадом, мусить говорити з Путіним - така позиція зміцніла після цієї зустрічі", - зазначається у статті.

Це був перший візит Асада за кордон з початку громадянської війни у Сирії. У Москві востаннє він був у 2006 році.

Між тим, у четвер до Дамаска збираються російські парла.
