Рок-співак Борис Гребенщиков підписався під зверненням російського відділення Amnesty International щодо звільнення українського режисера Олега Сенцова та інших ув'язнених, які, на думку правозахисників, утримуються з політичних мотивів. Про це йдеться у повідомленні організації про "Марафон листів Amnesty International", пише ВВС.
"Сьогодні музикант підписав петиції до влади США і Сирії, Сальвадору і Узбекистану. І що особливо важливо - Борис Борисович ще поставив підпис під листом до Генерального прокурора РФ із закликом вжити термінових заходів та скасувати вироки Олегу Сенцову, Олександру Кольченку і Геннадію Афанасьєву, винесені за непропорційними звинуваченнями у тероризмі, він закликав висунути їм належні звинувачення, або звільнити їх", - відзначив директор російського представництва Amnesty International Сергій Нікітін.
25 серпня російський суд визнав Олега Сенцова винним у створенні терористичної організації й засудив його до 20 років колонії суворого режиму.
Інші обвинувачені у справі, Олександр Кольченко та Геннадій Афанасьєв, отримали по десять та сім років відповідно.
