Послуга «Перевірка безпеки у фейсбуці» спрямована на користувачів, які перебувають у зоні стихійного лиха. Завдяки їй можна знайти та зв'язатися з друзів з Facebook у Непалі та відзначити друзів як таких, що перебувають у безпеці. Якщо ж їм потрібна допомога, користувачам Facebook нагадують номер аварійної служби - +977-4228435.

Мета послуги - «повідомити родину та друзів, що ти в порядку», зазначив Марк Цукерберг.

Нагадаємо, 25 квітня в Непалі стався потужний землетрус магнітудою 7,9 - найсильніший за останні майже 80 років. Внаслідок стихійного лиха постраждалі місцеві мешканці, альпіністи, туристи. Замлетрус завдав шкоди будівлям, аеропорт у Катманду було зачинено.
