Компанія "Фейсбук" заявила про плани змінити свою політику щодо того, щоб користувачі вказували у профілі свої справжні імена.

Раніше із такою вимогою до компанії звернулися низка активістів, пише ВВС.

У вівторок компанія повідомила, що збирається протестувати нову систему, відповідно до якої користувачі можуть узяти псевдонім за певних обставин.

Як уточнюють у компанії, пом'якшення "політики справжнього імені" пов'язане з бажанням допомогти людям, які опинилися у важкій ситуації: наприклад, стали жертвою домашнього насильства чи зазнали знущань.

Водночас Facebook наполягає, щоб люди використовували "реальні імена" у всіх ситуаціях, крім надзвичайних.

У липні ЗМІ повідомляли, що адміністрація соціальної мережі заблокувала акаунт громадянки Німеччини через використання псевдоніма, а пізніше вказала реальне ім'я власниці акаунта без її згоди.
