Колишній віце-президент США Джо Байден у четвер оголосив про намір втретє балотуватися на посаду президента.

Про це повідомляє "Європейська правда".

"Основні цінності цієї нації... наше становище в світі... сама наша демократія... все, що зробило Америку Америкою - поставлено на карту. Ось чому сьогодні я висуваю свою кандидатуру на пост президента Сполучених Штатів", - написав Байден у Twitter.

Джо Байден – один із найвідоміших американських політиків. Він двічі був віце-президентом США при президенті Бараку Обамі, до цього чотири десятиліття працював сенатором від штату Делавер.

Свої кандидатури на пост президента США від Демократичної партії вже висунули 18 високопоставлених демократів. 76-річний Байден – найстарший та найдосвідченіший політик у цій гонці.

Очікується, що Байден міг би стати одним із найсерйозніших супротивників чинного президента Дональда Трампа.

Це буде третя спроба Байдена стати президентом США – він балотувався у 1988 і 2008 роках.
