Німецьке видання Deutsche Welle повідомило, що низка російських ЗМІ опублікувала "сфальсифіковану інформацію", в якій з посиланням на DW стверджувалося, що збірна Китаю нібито може відмовитися від участі в Паралімпійських іграх в Ріо-де-Жанейро.

Замість цього, як запевняли російські мережеві видання, китайські спортсмени з обмеженими фізичними можливостями нібито можуть прийняти участь в альтернативних змаганнях в Росії, які обіцяв провести голова Кремля Володимир Путін.

"Редакція DW хотіла б підкреслити, що посилання на медіакомпанію є фейковим. Ні на одній зі сторінок сайту DW не було розміщено інформацію про китайських паралімпійців, нібито готових відмовитися від участі в Паралімпійських іграх в Ріо-де-Жанейро на користь альтернативного заходу в Росії. Поширена російськими ЗМІ інформація не відповідає дійсності", - підкреслило видання.
