В эфире пропагандистской программы «Вечер с Владимиром Соловьевым» на телеканале «Россия 1» пресс-секретарь Московского Патриарха Кирилла Александр Волков высказал свое мнение относительно предоставления автокефалии Украине. По словам представителя Кирилла, посте того, как наше государство получит Томос, его ждет жестокая религиозная война. Кроме всего прочего, Волков уверен, что большинство прихожан УПЦ МП в Украине не перейдут под юрисдикцию УПЦ КП. 

В РПЦ также отметили, что надеются на то, что в Украине не будет развиваться подобный сценарий, и получится избежать трагических событий в стране. «Большинство украинских верующих, которые находятся в лоне УПЦ, разумеется, останутся в лоне УПЦ», — самоуверенно заявил Волков, после чего ведущий передачи, топ-пропагандист Кремля Владимир Соловьев задал ему провокационный вопрос, означает ли это, что в Украине будет большая кровь. «Мы очень рассчитываем, очень надеемся, очень верим и молимся на то, что крови не будет, и на то, что горячие головы со всех сторон здесь не восторжествуют. Это, конечно, тогда будет торжество ада и торжество дьявола. И очень хочется надеяться, что до этой черты нас всех Господь не доведет», — ответил ему пресс-секретарь Патриарха Кирилла.
