Участник праймериз Демократической партии Джо Байден увеличил электоральный отрыв от президента США Дональда Трампа.

Согласно новому опросу агентства Reuters/Ipsos, 46% респондентов проголосуют за Байдена, если он станет соперником Трампа на выборах 3 ноября. В свою очередь, президента Трампа готовы поддержать 40%.

Опрос от 6−9 марта давал Байдену перевес над Трампом в 1%.

По мнению социологов, кампания Байдена не пострадала из-за коронавируса, хотя пандемия существенно притормозила ее ход. Трамп же находится в эпицентре борьбы с пандемией и вполне вероятно, в будущем «понесет электоральные потери».

Тем не менее, опрос показал, что число респондентов, которые одобряют работу Трампа мало изменилось за последние несколько недель. Около 44% заявили, что одобряют работу Трампа в целом, а 48% одобряют инициативы президента по борьбе с коронавирусом.

Опрос проводился 30−31 марта среди 1114 совершеннолетних респондентов, погрешность составляет до 3%.
