Бывший вице-президент США Джо Байден избран кандидатом в президенты США от Демократической партии, свидетельствуют результаты голосования на прошедшей в онлайн режиме конвенции (съезде).

Проголосовать предлагали за двух кандидатов: за Джо Байдена или сенатора от штата Вермонт Берни Сандерса.

Байден поблагодарил за оказанное ему доверие.

Официально о том, кто стал кандидатом в президенты, будет объявлено в четверг, когда Байден примет предложение баллотироваться на пост главы государства.

От Республиканской партии на выборах в ноябре ему будет противостоять действующий президент США Дональд Трамп.

Президентские выборы в США назначены на 3 ноября.
