Колишній президент Польщі та лауреат Нобелівської премії Миру Лех Валенса переконаний, що Юлії Тимошенко навряд чи вдасться перемогти на президентських виборах 25 травня. «Я вважаю, що Юлія Тимошенко навіть не повинна брати участь в передвиборчих перегонах», – заявив Лех Валенса в інтерв’ю Rzeczpospolita.

На його переконання, «загалом в Україні навіть немає загальнонаціонального лідера, який би очолив незворотний процес реформ та побудову нової держави. І весь цей хаос може завершитись тим, що Майдан буде асоціюватись з провокацією Путіна».

Висловився Валенса і щодо ситуації в Криму, негативно оцінивши вчинок Росії. Він певний, що світ має дати адекватну відповідь Путіну і водночас виразити солідарність українському народу.
