В 2012 году Александр Бондаренко, в сентябре ставший губернатором Днепропетровской области, снялся в шоу "Давай поженимся" на российском Первом канале.

Когда Бондаренко попал в студию к ведущей Ларисой Гузеевой и свахе Розе Сябитовой, ему было 26 лет.

В шоу поведали историю несчастной любви молодого человека. Дескать, он начал встречаться с девушкой, но вскоре она объявила, что выходит замуж за другого.

В финале шоу невеста по имени Анастасия предпочла его, отринув двух других кандидатов. Однако молодые люди так и не поженились.
