Консервативна і Лейбористська партія зазнали невдачі на місцевих виборах у Великій Британії, в той час як невеликі партії і незалежні депутати отримали додаткові місця по всій країні.

Місцеві вибори пройшли в Англії і Північній Ірландії, виборці обирали 248 англійських рад, шість мерів і 11 рад в Північній Ірландії.

Попередні результати показали, що національна політика стала вирішальним фактором для виборців і обидві партії вже визнали, що їхні невдачі пов’язані із проблемами в процесі Brexit.

Як відомо, консерватори і лейбористи в парламенті досі не домовилися щодо угоди про вихід з Європейського Союзу, і в результаті крайній термін Brexit був перенесений з 29 березня на 31 жовтня.

Консерватори втратили близько 400 місць на даний момент, і є припущення, що в підсумку ця цифра може зрости до 800. Лейбористи втратили 74 місця.

Ліберальні демократи вже отримали понад 270 місць - і контролюють вісім рад. Незалежні кандидати отримали 188 місць в раді, а "Зелені" - 34.

Близько 100 англійських рад вже оголосили результати, а інші 140 результатів очікується протягом п'ятниці. Результати по Північній Ірландії будуть пізніше.
