Гігант роздрібної торгівлі почав досліджувати, яких функцій та сервісів бракує користувачам. Так з’явилася ідея створення Anytime, який даватиме користувачам можливість обмінюватися повідомлення, голосовими дзвінками та відео й водночас здійснювати покупки на Amazon. Також користувачі зможуть створювати GIF-зображення та грати в ігри в цьому додатку, пише Media Sapiens
 

Очікується, що додаток буде захищеним, використовуватиме наскрізне шифрування й працюватиме на різних десктопних та мобільних пристроях.

Раніше Amazon оголосив про запуск Chime - додатка для здійснення конференц-дзвінків. Також оновлення були проведені для пристроїв, які використовують помічник Alexa. Вони отримали функції голосового керування, за допомогою яких користувачі зможуть керувати дзвінками та надсилати повідомлення. «Схоже, що розробка Anytime є логічним наступним кроком для Amazon», - зазначає The Verge. Компанія Amazon поки не прокоментувала інформацію щодо запуску власного месенджера. 

Нещодавнє дослідження компанії AdPro показало, що 75% підлітків готові відмовитися від функції дзвінків заради месенджерів. До топ-15 додатків, які українці (18-45 років) завантажують на смартфони, входять три месенджери: Viber мають на своїх телефонах 95% користувачів, Skype – 37%, а Facebook Messenger – 27%.
