Президент США Дональд Трамп во время телефонного разговора перепутал двух высокопоставленных чиновников Европейского Союза - главу Европейской комиссии Жан-Клода Юнкера и главу Европейского совета Дональда Туска.

Об этом сообщает УНИАН со ссилкой на The Guardian. "Трамп говорил с господином Туском и перепутал нас", - сказал Юнкер. "Что касается международной политики. Все дело в деталях", - добавил он. Однако сам Трамп в интервью изданиям The Times и Bild на этой неделе заявил, что он говорил с "главой Европейского Союза" и на уточняющий вопрос журналиста подтвердил, что он говорил с Юнкером.

В интервью Financial Times Юнкер выразил свое беспокойство по поводу поддержки Трампом выхода Великобритании из ЕС. По мнению председателя ЕК, американский президент не знаком в достаточной степени с историей Европы. Кроме того, Юнкер рассказал, что во время своего последнего визита в Брюссель он сообщал вице-президенту США Майку Пенсу, какие последствия может повлечь распад ЕС.

"Не надо приглашать другие страны к выходу, потому что если Евросоюз распадется, в западной части Балкан начнется новая война", — сказал Юнкер, обращаясь к Пенсу.
