Сотрудники таможенно-пограничной службы в штате Аризона нашли на заборе на американо-мексиканской границе устройство, использовавшееся для переброски наркотиков на территорию США. Об этом сообщает CNN.

Самодельная катапульта была обнаружена неподалеку от контрольно-пропускного пункта Дуглас на прошлой неделе. Устройство, по-видимому, сконструировано из квадратных труб и тяжелых пружин, соединенных методом сварки. Некоторые части катапульты обмотаны веревкой.

Сотрудники службы также заметили несколько человек возле забора, разделяющего два государства, однако неизвестным удалось скрыться. При осмотре местности были найдены два мешка марихуаны общим весом более 21 килограмма.

Таможенно-пограничная служба уведомила о происшествии компетентные органы в Мексике. Катапульта была снята и затем разобрана американскими пограничниками.

CNN также пишет о других способах переправки наркотиков из Мексики в США. В частности, в январе этого года полиция Техаса изъяла большую партию марихуаны стоимостью более 700 тысяч долларов. Наркотики были замаскированы под лаймы.
