Як повідомляє Fox News, натомість він готовий подарувати російському лідерові інше.

За словами Крафта, він вже намагався підняти це питання в розмові з адміністрацією президента США, однак там дали зрозуміти, що краще цю тему не зачіпати.

"Я почув паузу на тому кінці, після чого голос повторив: "Було б краще, якщоб ви правда подарували це кільце"... У мене є емоційна прихильність до цього кільця. Я не хочу, щоб воно опинилося на eBay. Я був готовий зробити ще одне з ім'ям Путіна. Може, наш новий президент підніме цю тему під час зустрічі з ним", - заявив він.

Чемпіонський перстень Крафта був вкрадений у 2013 році після його візиту разом з іншими представниками американського бізнесу в Кремль, де він необережно похвалився ним перед Путіним.

"Я міг би таким і убити кого-небудь", - сказав тоді Путін.

Однак, коли Крафт простягнув руку, щоб отримати діамантове кільце назад, російський президент в оточенні спецслужби вийшов з кімнати.

У свою чергу сам Путін заявив, що нічого такого не пам'ятає.
