Віце-президент Сполучених Штатів Америки Джо Байден відвідає Україну за кілька днів до того, як залишити посаду, щоб продемонструвати підтримку Києва Вашингтоном.

Про це йдеться в заяві Білого дому, оприлюдненій посольством США в Україні, пише "Європейська правда"

Віце-президент США приїде до України 15 січня і візьме участь у двосторонніх зустрічах з президентом Петром Порошенком і прем'єр-міністром Володимиром Гройсманом.

"Візит віце-президента Байдена в Україну підкреслить підтримку США та зробить акцент на його особистому залученні до надання підтримки незалежності України, розбудови демократії, добробуту та безпеки", – йдеться у повідомленні.

Візит Байдена до Києва відбудеться за кілька днів до інавгурації обраного президента США Дональда Трампа.

Зазначимо, що Барак Обама, чиї президентські повноваження закінчуються за тиждень, став першим після Джорджа Буша-старшого очільником США, який не здійснив візит до України після здобуття нею незалежності.
