Напередодні матчу Копа Америки між Перу і Еквадором перуанське видання Todo Sport вийшло із заголовком "Давайте підсмажимо мавп".

Федерація футболу Перу вже розкритикувала газету і закликала до відмови від расистських гасел. Зазначимо, що фраза красувалася на першій шпальті газети, пише Корреспондент

З 1941-го року між країнами виник військовий конфлікт, і відтоді між жителями двох держав триває «холодна війна». Цим і скористалася редакція видання, заявивши що дана фраза загальноприйнята в Перу і використовується в лексиконі перуанців щодня. Втім, свої перепрошення газета також принесла.

Матч Копа Америки завершився з рахунком 2-2. Еквадор відігрався, програючи в ході матчу 0-2.
