В Гонконге уволили с должности главного редактора газеты Ming Pao, которая опубликовала материалы про гонконгских политиков и бизнесменов, упомянутых в "Панамских документах".

Об этом сообщает The Guardian, передает Укринформ

"Сотрудники профсоюза газеты выразили недовольство по поводу внезапного увольнения Кен Квок-Йеня (Keung Kwok-yuen), которое объяснили якобы желанием "экономии расходов", - говорится в сообщении.

В своем заявлении сотрудники издания ставят под сомнение причину увольнения Квок-Йеня, предполагая, что компания могла на самом деле наказать сотрудников редакции, которые придерживаются иной редакционной политики.

Кроме этого, увольнение вызвало протесты со стороны других профсоюзов журналистов и обновило опасения по поводу свободы прессы в КНР.

В среду, 20 апреля, издание опубликовало на первой полосе материал про гонконгских политиков и бизнесменов, чьи имена были упомянуты в "Панамских документах".

Как сообщал Укринформ, Международный консорциум журналистов-расследователей задокументировал большую сеть теневых денежных переводов, которые используются именитыми владельцами из многих стран.

Информация была обнародована 3 апреля в рамках нового масштабного исследования под названием "Панамские документы".
