Як повідомляє прес-служба кінотеатру «Жовтень», кінотеатр увійшов до переліку 48 найкращих артхаусних кінотеатрів Європи за версією сітігайда Spotted by Locals, чиї дані нерідко цитують світові ЗМІ.

В описі кінотеатру на цьому сайті зазначено, що «репертуар «Жовтня» складає фестивальне кіно, артхаус і короткометражні фільми». Також у описі відзначили, що будівлю одного з найстаріших кінотеатрів Києва двічі було відновлено після руйнацій - під час Другої світової війни та внаслідок підпалу в 2014-му.

У рейтингу Spotted by Locals - такі культові кінотеатри, як Le Lucernaire у Парижі, берлінський The Moviemento чи The Movies в Амстердамі.
