Президент Естонії Тоомас Хендрік Ільвес заручився з керівником служби кібербезпеки МВС Латвії Ієвою Купце, підтвердили в адміністрації голови держави у Талліні.

Як кажуть у президентському палаці, рішення про заручини прийняли ще в середині листопада і це ніяк не позначиться на виконанні президентом своїх обов'язків, повідомляє ВВС

На даний момент невідомо, чи залишиться Ієва Купце при виконанні своїх обов'язків до весілля і чи буде вона виступати у традиційній ролі "першої леді" після одруження.

За плечима у 61-річного Ільвеса два шлюби, у нього троє дітей. Його другий президентський термін закінчується в серпні наступного року.

Президент Естонії та 38-річна Купце познайомилися у Європарламенті на початку 2000-х.
