Давайте разбирать громкий кейс Duolingo. Для начала восстановим хронологию событий:

1. Сразу после Супербоула, когда все компании показывают свои ролики во время главного спортивного события в США, сова умирает. Хайп удался.

2. Через несколько дней начинается расследование. Что же случилось с совой? Ее сбил Кибертрак.

3. При этом "убивают" не только сову, но и трех других маскотов. 

4. Чуть позже появляются сообщения о том, что ее можно воскресить. Для этого надо выполнять задания и набрать 50 млн опыта. За 11 минут набрали 3.6 миллиона.

5. Акции компании достигают исторического максимума 18 февраля. Все хотят знать, что же с совой. Другие бренды косплеят сову.

6. Сегодня Duolingo выкладывают ролик, в котором сова оживает.

Это было громко, об этом говорили, результат виден по всем цифрам. 

Но меня с самого начала этой движухи не покидало ощущение, что все это весьма дешево. Кто-то реально верил, что совы больше не будет? 

Однако, я пишу сейчас об этом пост, а кол-во упоминаний Duolingo говорит само за себя.

Создать хайп на пустом месте — нужно уметь. Но теперь еще интересно, смогут ли в Duolingo в будущем сделать что-то такое же хайповое, не прибегая к подобному приему.
