Уряд Великої Британії хоче домогтися від соцмереж, щоб ті видати дані користувачів, які писали расистські образи на адресу темношкірих футболістів збірної Англії після програшу у фіналі Євро-2020. Про це пише DW із посиланням на The Times.
 
 

Джерела в урядових колах повідомили ЗМІ, що фанатам-расистам хочуть показати «наслідки в реальному житті» від їхніх висловлювань у соцмережах і зробити з цих випадків показовий приклад. Масові образливі коментарі на сторінках футболістів, як зазначило джерело, показали нездатність соцмереж боротися з мовою ненависті.

Після програшу у фіналі Чемпіонату Європи расистських образ в інтернеті зазнали Маркус Рашфорд, Букайо Сака і Джейдон Санчо. Дії фанатів-расистів засудили прем'єр-міністр Великої Британії Борис Джонсон і Футбольна асоціація Англії. Також розслідувати випадки проявів расизму в інтернеті по відношенню до футболістів буде поліція.
